An Open Question

So, is the character of Billy Walsh on "Entourage" based on David O. Russell, P.T. Anderson, a third party, or some amalgamation of the above?

I say it's David O. Russell, but I'd like to know what other people think.

My vote is for Russell.

Chris Woodward

I'd have to say Russell, too. But whomever the character is based on, I'm extremely sick of him. All Billy adds is a somewhat crazy "artist" who doesn't like E. His shtick is getting old very fast.

Apparently he was initially based on Rob Weiss, who is a writer on the show. I think now they use him to funnel every "crazy director" story they've ever heard into one character.

Entourage is legitimately terrible now. I don't understand why I still watch.

I second that emotion, Carrie. The celeb "pop-ins" have always been pretty shitty, but Kanye was the worst. "Go ahead and get blown by the stewardesses you crazy crackers!! I'm gonna fly this plane!"

I have to admit, even by the show's already lax standards of reality, Sunday's deus ex machina of Kanye West's stripper-fueled jet was pretty insane.

Kanye

Carlson's blog doesn't care about black people.

Dustin

I always pegged him as Vincent Gallo; I think it's the similar-ish appearance and Walsh's side-career in porn.
