Underneath The Foreign Stars
The video for the new Old 97's single, "Dance With Me," centers on Tricia Helfer and "Battlestar Galactica." I don't quite know what to make of this; or rather, I can't decide if it's a stunning coincidence or if I should be worried that my tastes and mentality can be so easily deconstructed by the media. I mean, the "BSG" fan picks food out of his beard; that one hits so close it hurts.

I almost saw the Old 97s on Friday. They were in Vancouver and I saw it in the paper and my first thought was, "well, Daniel Carlson has good taste in music. I should go see them." Never heard them before in my life. In the end Ticketmaster conspired against me (why, why, why?!?!?) but rest assured, now that they're playing hard to get I'm even more inclined to pick up one of their CDs.
