nice review. so, you mention to the 4th as the turning point. What did you think of the third movie though?

I thought the third one was good, and certainly more enjoyable for its darkness than the first two. But that's the whole problem: Rowling started out writing a series for young kids that feels often disconnected from the later books. It's basically 4ish books' worth of story spread over 7 volumes; the only remarkable thing about the third one is the return of Sirius Black, an event that easily could have been tightened up. The books aren't dense enough for their space, and as a result, they only start to get more entertaining later on, when the story actually starts to fire along.
